Experience Live Music on Jacksonville Property at the Annual Summer Concert Series

Jacksonville property owners go to the park for fun events.Enjoy programs, events, and activities through the Parks and Recreation Department near your Jacksonville property this summer and fall. The Jacksonville Commons Amphitheater is home to the annual Sounds of Summer Concert Series. Free concerts are available during the summer. Bring the whole family, as these concerts are family friendly, and also grab blankets and chairs from your Jacksonville property before heading out. The concert series this year has been impacted because of COVID-19. The July 10th show has been cancelled due to Phase 2 Restrictions by Governor Cooper.

So far, the final three installments of the summer concert series are still on, but check back closer to each event to be sure. The British Invaders Band is scheduled for August 14th, Part of 6ix is scheduled for September 11th, and Steel County Express is scheduled for September 25th. The music starts at 7 p.m. at the amphitheater, located at 1300 Commons Drive S. in Jacksonville. Bring a picnic or snacks with you and enjoy time with family and friends.

Artists Living in Jacksonville Come out for Chalk the Lot

Another event that will provide ample fun for a family, individual, or group of friends is Chalk the Lot. This event already took place June 27th and 28th and will also take place July 25th and 26th and August 22nd and 23rd. This is a great activity that can be done outside while social distancing. Each group can reserve a spot at Jacksonville Commons Recreation Center for free. Spots that have been reserved will be marked and there could be a few extras available. Once a reservation is submitted, participants will receive an email with detailed instructions. Participants can upload a photo of their artwork for a chance to win. Good news for anyone with a hankering for a new hairdo, Mandi’s Hair Studio & Boutique has been open since May 21st. Right now, all hair, coloring, nails, and waxing services are by appointment only. Additionally, for everyone’s safety, only the person receiving the service is allowed at the salon. Clients are asked to stay at their Richlands homes if they have been sick or have been exposed to someone. The shop will have to close if anyone has brought in the virus, so be mindful. Also, all visitors must wear a mask or face covering.
